Tattooer, Flash painter, Disobedient citizen.
My name is Merijn Verhees. I have been tattooing since 2006 and did my traineeship with Wouter Wilms at Last Port Tattoo Parlor in Maastricht, The Netherlands. As is necessary working in a busy streetshop I learned to do a wide variety of styles. As time progressed, however, I found that the traditional or old school style was my favourite, closely followed by ethnic tribal styles like Polynesian, Samoan, Borneo and Maori. So those became the styles I mostly focussed on. Of course I also continued to do a lot of lettering and small, fineline tattoos. Japanese is still a style that I would like to explore as it is such an elaborate and important style in tattooing. Realism is really not my cup of tea.
I opened up my own shop Brimstone Tattoo in the spring of 2021 with the intention of continuing what I learned at Last Port in my own way. In an open and relaxed environment with dedication to both my customers’ wishes and the actual application of the tattoos.
If you like my work, feel free to contact me by any of the options listed below.
On thursday and saturday I am currently still working at Last Port in Maastricht.
